Chenal Valley
Nestled among the gentle hills of West Little Rock lies one of the city’s premier neighborhoods — Chenal Valley. Developed in the mid-1990s as a planned community, it consists of 4,300 acres. Homes are generally quite spacious, residing on large wooded lots.
At the heart of Chenal Valley can be found the prestigious Chenal Country Club, boasting two championship golf courses designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones, Jr. Fourteen of Chenal Valley’s 33 separate neighborhoods adjoin these courses. In addition, there are three neighborhood pools and parks available to all residents.
A recent addition to the neighborhood is Promenade at Chenal, a 330,000-square-foot open-air lifestyle center featuring many upscale shops that include Anthropologie, J. Crew, DSW, and The Apple Store, as well as restaurants and an IMAX theater.
The county’s newest primary school, Chenal Elementary, offers a curriculum that encourages student expression and environmental awareness. The school is located adjacent to Wildwood Park for the Arts, a 105-acre botanical garden and performing theater complex that serves as the site of a year-round series of festivals devoted to the arts.
Chenal Valley is also home to Little Rock’s newest public library, the Roosevelt Thompson Library, a technologically advanced information center offering patrons more than 30,000 books, magazines, audiovisual and digital resources.
Home prices in Chenal Valley range from $200,000 to $2 million.
